Modular Costa UPS can also provide N + 1 redundancy by adding additional power modules. See Figure 3 below. This internal modular redundancy N + 1 configuration is the same as the baseline with an additional 550 kW module. The battery system consists of four parallel batteries, each of which has its own circuit breaker, so a failure of one battery will not lead to the paralysis of the whole battery system. As shown in the figure, the Kosta UPS output bus and battery (DC) bus are common to all modules, so they represent a single point of failure of the Kosta UPS system that needs to be converted to a bypass.
